22nd European Economy Lecture by Pierre Régibeau on "State Aid, European Unity, International Competition and Industrial Policy".

Professor Régibeau received a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.  After graduation, he embarked on an academic career at institutions such as the Sloan School at MIT,  Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Institute for Economic Analysis in Barcelona and the University of Essex, where he currently is Honorary Visiting Professor.

Professor Régibeau has published academic and policy papers in leading reviews. He was also on the Board of Editors of the Journal of Industrial Economics for more than ten years.

Before becoming Chief economist at DG Comp, Professor Régibeau has also been a member of the Economic Advising Group on Competition Policy at the EU Commission.

In parallel to his academic career, he has been active in economic consulting as vice-President in the European competition team at CRA.
