The participants

The EU Diplomacy & Diplomatic Skills course is primarily targeted at officials from the EU institutions as well as diplomats from the 27 EU Member States and other countries. In addition, it is open to civil servants from national administrations, academics and professionals from the private sector working in the field of EU external relations from both EU and non-EU countries.

Participants should have a university degree, a very good command of English and some relevant work experience.

Seats for this course are limited, in order to ensure an optimal interactive environment that fosters discussions and facilitates networking.

The College of Europe reserves the right to select participants based on their academic and professional profile.

Our former participants say:

“This course has empowered me and contributed to my knowledge of EU Diplomacy. I’ve become a better negotiator, I communicate more effectively and I’ve increased my self-confidence.”
“I’ve received a lot of practical tips on improving my analysis and critical thinking.”
“The knowledge and experience of the lecturers is the main attribute of this training.”

The trainers

The sessions are delivered by high-level speakers from the expert network of the College of Europe, which comprises both academics and practitioners with a sound working experience in and/or with the EU institutions.
