The Development Office: looking ahead

After a year of change and restructuring, the Development Office is looking into the future with a fresh perspective.

With more than eight new initiatives in addition to the existing activities that have been carried out for the last 14 years, the Development Office remains a strong actor in the field of EU-related services, projects and partnerships.

These days, our vision is more focused on two main types of initiatives: EU projects as well as professional trainings. Even though these categories of activities are not new, the Development Office is now more active in certain specific fields within those two areas of specialisation; providing professional training at highest level especially in the field of diplomatic training and national authorities’ assistance as well as developing and participating in service contracts for the EU Institutions and EuropeAid projects.
In addition, we continue managing our international academic cooperation projects and partnerships.

Also at personal level, some fresh wind has been blowing. Since last autumn, Jan De Mondt, Acting Director and Director of Personnel and Finance and myself have taken over the management of the office. For the coordination of the various activities, we are supported by a team of eight highly motivated Project Assistants and Managers. And thanks to the good results achieved, we will soon welcome new colleagues.
