INTERVIEW

Hans Geeroms is a Visiting Professor of Economics here at the College as well as a renowned expert in the field of macro-economic policy. Ahead of all this, we caught up with Professor Geeroms for a brief yet frank discussion on the current financial difficulties facing Europe.

An overview of the current crisis with Professor Hans Geeroms

a) The europroject was flawed from the beginning because not all participating member states met the economic requirements for joining a common currency and because the necessary economic EU institutions were not fully in place; former Commission President Jacques Delors, who launched the euro, made the same statement recently.
