COMPACT one-week programme

The Compact formula is specifically designed for professionals with several years of working experience in EU affairs who wish to refresh their knowledge on specific European policies and to discuss selected issues with high-level experts.

The one-week programme offers a thorough analysis of horizontal issues and current policy challenges to provide the solid background necessary to understand today’s politics and processes at EU level. The seminar also includes practical skills sessions on negotiation, lobbying and communication allowing participants to improve their professional performance. Panel debates on hot topics will round off the seminar.

In more detail the Compact programme will cover:
  • an analysis of cross-cutting issues: decision-making and institutional dynamics in the EU, reforming the EU budget, Europe 2020 strategy for Growth and Job, the Single Market and the Four Freedoms.
  • an overview of current and future policy challenges: the EU’s economic and social recovery plan, asylum and immigration policy, the EU’s role in the world and the EU’s energy and climate change policies.
  • working with the EU: a look at the best practices in the areas of lobbying, intercultural communication and diplomacy.
  • panel discussions on fundamental questions for the future of Europe from the perspective of high-level officials.
