Participants & trainers

The participants – among the seminar’s biggest assets

Each year the Intensive Seminar attracts highly motivated professionals from some 30 countries worldwide with diverse backgrounds but one common interest: EU affairs. Among them are civil servants of national administrations and EU institutions, public affairs practitioners, managers from private companies, representatives from NGOs and associations, lawyers and academics. This diverse group of participants represents one of the seminar’s most valuable assets bringing to the discussion very different perspectives, expectations and experiences of the EU.

All participants have a relevant university degree, a good command of English (the seminar language) and several years of work experience.

The trainers – EU specialists providing practice-oriented and insider views

Our experienced trainers are practitioners and professors from the College of Europe’s international network of experts in European affairs. Several sessions are delivered by EU officials who are able to provide an additional ‘insider’ perspective of the issues discussed.

Full information about the trainers will be communicated to participants on the seminar extranet before the start of the programme.

What former participants say:

"The Intensive Seminar on the EU was not only a worthwhile learning experience, but also an opportunity to make new friends and appreciate other cultures. The seminars, exercises and field trips provided me with a greater understanding and appreciation for the EU."
