Organised by the Development Office of the College of Europe for the Translation Unit of the Prime Minister's Office of Kosovo.
In December 2003 the College of Europe started cooperating with GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) in the framework of a Project of Support to the Prime Minister’s Office funded by the European Agency for Reconstruction.
As a subcontractor for GTZ, the contribution of the College of Europe consisted in collecting specialised expertise to deliver targeted training for the translators and interpreters unit within the Prime Minister’s Office, in order to enhance the capacity of this unit to provide quality translation/interpretation services in the field of EU affairs.
Trainees were professionals working for the Translation Unit within the Prime Minister’s Office: they are part of a newly established team of translators and interpreters providing language services in Albanian, Serbian and English.
Recent policy and organisational developments within the Office of the Prime Minister in Kosovo increased the need for a better understanding of the terminology used in the EU. The College of Europe tackled this training need by selecting a highly experienced expert to provide an intensive course covering the following subjects:
Two young Professionals working at the Prime Minister’s Office have been admitted to the College of Europe to attend the Master’s Programme during the academic year 2004-2005.
