15th European Concert

The Local Committee for the College of Europe organised its 15th European Concert at the St. Saviour’s Cathedral of Bruges on Europe Day, Saturday 9 May 2009 at 8.00 p.m. The Minsk String Quartet featured different musical masterpieces. Yuri Gildiuk (piano) and Hedwig Swimberghe (clarinet) were invited to perform as soloists.

The profits from ticket sales and sponsorship are donated to the Students' Fund of the College of Europe, which is used to provide a scholarship for a Belgian student to study at the College.

Het Plaatselijk Comité voor het Europacollege heeft haar vijftiende Europees Concert georganiseerd in de Sint-Salvatorskathedraal (Steenstraat) te Brugge op Europadag, zaterdag 9 mei 2009 om 20.00 uur.

Het programma werd gebracht door het kamerorkest ‘the Minsk String Quartet’ uit Wit-Rusland samen met de solisten Yuri Gildiuk (piano) & Hedwig Swimberghe (klarinet).

Werken van onder meer Antonin Dvorak (1841 – 1904) - Tsjechië Antonio Vivaldi (1680 – 1743) - Italië & het wondermooie klarinetkwintet van Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 – 1791) - Oostenrijk

De opbrengsten van het concert gaan integraal naar het ‘Students' Fund’ van het Europacollege en worden gebruikt om een studiebeurs te financieren voor een Belgisch student die studeert aan het College.
