On Wednesday 26 November 2014, the EP Geremek European Civilization Chair at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe, in association with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, hosted a conference entitled: "The 1989 Romanian Revolution in European Context".

Professor Georges MINK moderated a panel discussion between Professor Martyn RADY (Professor of Central European History at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at University College London), Dr Paweł UKIELSKI (Vice-President at the Institute of National Remembrance, IPN, Warsaw), Ms Germina NAGÂŢ (Director at the National Council for the Study of Securitate Archives, CNSAS, in Bucharest) and Mr Christian MITITELU (Former Director of the BBC Romanian Section).

After dinner, a film about the revolution "12:08 East of Bucharest" was shown. The dramatic events in Romania surrounding the fall of Nicolae CEAUSESCU were foregrounded against the backdrop of East-Central Europe’s 'Autumn of Nations'.
