The opening ceremony of the sixty-third academic year of the College of Europe, Bruges campus, took place in the Concert Hall ('t Zand, Bruges) on Wednesday 17 October 2012 at 2.30 p.m. Mrs Helle THORNING-SCHMIDT, Prime Minister of Denmark, delivered the opening address to the students of the Václav Havel promotion, professors, staff and invited guests of the College of Europe.
Rector Paul Demaret presented "The College of Europe in 2012-2013" and recalled Václav Havel, Patron of the promotion 2012-2013.
