The first main event organized by the Natolin Energy Group, took place on 29 October 2015 at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe.

The Natolin Energy group decided to focus this first semester on the energy challenges linked with COP21. The objective of this United Nations Climate Change Conference, is to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate. All students of the Natolin campus were invited to discuss and reflect on the main challenges of the conference.

Workshop I: Climate Change/Energy Transition? // by Mr Loic COBUT, student of the Natolin campus

The aim of the presentation was to better understand what is the so-called "climate deregulation" and why it leads to the need of an energy transition. This workshop was the occasion to discuss how this deregulation affects not only our ecosystems but also our economy in the long term. Afterwards, roundtable discussions were organized in order to open the debate on the different ways to tackle this global and challenging issue.

Workshop II: Climate Change Negotiations // by Ms Maria OLCZAK, student of the Natolin campus

The second workshop focused on climate change negotiations within the framework of the United Nations. The presentation started with the outcomes of the Rio Earth Summit in 1992 and the adoption of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Then it highlighted the main milestones until the upcoming Climate Conference in Paris in December 2015. It ended with the position and the role of the European Union in the negotiation process.
