Every year, 9 May marks Europe Day to commemorate the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, a landmark speech that is credited with marking the launch of European integration.

This year's Europe Day sees the launch ceremony of the Conference on the Future of Europe, an EU-wide exercise inviting citizens to share their visions for Europe's future. The cross-campus Young European Federalists (JEF) student group at the College of Europe will host an online screening of the opening ceremony of the Conference, held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. We will be joined by Rector Federica MOGHERINI, who will give her reflections before the screening, and exchange with the students after the screening.

The event will begin with opening reflections from Rector MOGHERINI at 1:45pm. Starting at 2:00pm, we will watch the event from Strasbourg, including interventions from the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron and others. At around 3:15pm, we will begin exchanging on our impressions from the opening ceremony, and our expectations for the Conference.

The event is open for all College of Europe students. External participants may join the event, subject to registration. The Webex connection link will be sent to participants who have registered for the event by 23:59 CEST on 8 May, using the registration form below.
