Baltic National Week 2015-2016

Monday 15th : Swedish Evening with IKEA Challenge, teams of 5 had to assemble a bookshelf the fastest, followed by Swedish snacks and an introduction to the Swedish tradition of Midsummer. In collaboration with the CineClub we screened a Russian-speaking movie, “Moscow does not believe in tears”.

Tuesday 16th: In the evening of the Lithuania’s Independence Day we challenged our friends in a Pub Quiz, testing their knowledge of the Baltic Countries.

Wednesday 17th: A language café was hosted where everyone could choose to learn the basics in one of the 7 represented languages. Prior a presentation about a book representing Belarus was held and  through a lottery one lucky person won the Book “This Country Called Belarus” about Belarusian history. In collaboration with the CineClub we screened the original Swedish version of “The Girl Wth the Dragon Tattoo” (sv: Män som hatar kvinnor).

Thursday 18th: The National lunch was served; friend rye bread with sauce as a starter, Russian cabbage soup (shchi), Belarusian potato pancakes (draniki) together with Swedish Meatballs and also Lingonberry jam for early birds. Latvian Kisel was served as dessert.

In the evening the Baltic bar Night was hosted at the Chop Inn in collaboration with the BarCo.

Friday 19th: We finished off the week in a true Finish style with a sauna. In collaboration with the CineClub we screened a Lithuanian comedy.
