ICANN representatives visit Natolin

On Friday, 12 October 2018, Gabriella SCHITTEK and Adam PEAKE, two representatives from ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) visited the College of Europe in Natolin to meet our students!

The discussion touched upon a lot of interesting topics, including how the Internet's domain name system is governed, how to manage public resources online, and how to upgrade the security structures of the domain name system without breaking the Internet. We also looked at some of the trickier case studies involving Internet law—for example, which countries and territories receive their own top-level domain names and how funds allocated to Internet governance bodies should actually be spent.
