Romanian-Moldovan National Day

On Saturday 6 April 2019, the Romanian and Moldovan students in Natolin organised the National Day with the support of the Romanian and Moldovan Embassies in Warsaw.

After enjoying a lunch with traditional dishes and Romanian music, the students of the College had the opportunity to participate in a round-table with representatives of both Embassies.

Mr Catalin RADOI, Deputy Chief at the Romanian Embassy, presented the current priorities of the Romanian Presidency at the Council of the EU, and discussed as well the current political evolutions in Romania. Mr Andrei SAVA, First Secretary at the Moldovan Embassy, presented an overview of Polish-Moldovan relations and the role of Poland in supporting Moldova’s pathway to European integration in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

Following the Q&A session, the students had the opportunity to explore the photo exhibition "Discover Moldova" and taste a glass of traditional Moldovan wine.

The exhibition was followed by a quiz about the history, culture and traditions of Moldova and Romania, while the best teams received special prizes. The event ended up with a traditional dance workshop, where all participants could learn how to dance "Hora" and "Braşoveanca".

The students would like to thank the Moldovan and Romanian Embassies for their support and participation, and they hope that they have managed to share with the participants a bit of the #numanumaEU spirit, also spread by the colleagues in Bruges last month!
