On 9 November 2017, the Defense and Security Committee together with the Natolin Careers Office organized a conference on "The internal and external dimension of the EU's fight against terrorism" with the participation of EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator, Mr Gilles DE KERCHOVE.
Mr DE KERCHOVE was appointed by the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Mr Javier SOLANA, in 2007.
At the conference, Mr DE KERCHOVE first gave an overview of the current threats and challenges the EU is facing regarding counter-terrorism, and he described his role in this field. Students from the Simone Veil Promotion then had the opportunity to ask him questions notably about the future of ISIS, the struggle between liberty and democracy, or the data collection.
