UK National Day at the Natolin campus

On 6 March 2020, the British students of Natolin organised the UK National Day, celebrating with a themed lunch, afternoon tea, talk and a special dinner.

We kicked off the day at lunchtime with a beautiful performance by the Natolin Choir of two songs, "Hey Jude" by The Beatles and the traditional "Auld Lang Syne". Following this, the students and staff of Natolin were invited to a British afternoon tea and talk, complete with tea-tasting and biscuits. We were delighted to welcome Mr James HUGHES, Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs at the British Embassy in Warsaw and an alumnus of the College of Europe in Bruges, who gave an insightful and inspiring talk about life as a diplomat.

Following the talk, students were invited to experience a "magical" dinner in the Natolin canteen, which had been transformed into the Hogwarts Great Hall with the help of the Technical Team and the Natolin Canteen Staff. The evening proceeded with a classic pub quiz which tested the students’ knowledge of British culture, including of course famous British music. Finally, the night ended on a high with a Scottish Ceilidh dance, taught and led by Rose WOOLHOUSE, and to top it all off, a final rendition of “Auld Lang Syne” to toast the good times.

Many thanks to the British Embassy in Warsaw and to Ms Katarzyna BONIECKA for directing the Natolin Choir.
