To celebrate the 100th Birthday of the first Rector of the College of Europe, the Madariaga European Foundation, the College of Europe and the Alumni Association of the College of Europe, are organising the 8th Hendrik Brugmans Memorial Lecture in the City Hall of Brussels.

The Hendrik Brugmans Memorial Lectures were established in 1996 thanks to the generosity of College of Europe Alumni, and more particularly, those of the first 22 promotions of the College who studied during the rectorship of Hendrik Brugmans. Each year, an eminent speaker from fields of politics, academia or culture is invited to present his views on a European theme.
