Ms Osniecka-Tamecka appointed as Vice Rector

The College of Europe is pleased to announce that on 28 June 2007 the Administrative Council of the College of Europe appointed Ms Ewa Ośniecka-Tamecka as Vice Rector of the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe.

Prior to her current position as Secretary of State in the Office of the Committee for European Integration and as Secretary of the Committee for European Integration, Ms Ośniecka-Tamecka served as Director responsible for Development, Finance and Administration of the Natolin campus and was also a member of the Executive Board of the College of Europe Foundation (Natolin campus). Her experience with the College of Europe dates back to 1992, when she was involved in the establishment and development of the Natolin campus.

As Vice Rector, Ms Ośniecka-Tamecka will play a key role at the College of Europe, and more specifically at the Natolin campus. She will assist Rector Paul Demaret, who directs and coordinates the College’s activities, in the day-to-day administration of the campus. Her experience will allow the College to continue to strengthen its programme and reputation, especially throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Ms Ośniecka-Tamecka will begin her new position on 1 September 2007.

Additionally, Professor Dominik Hanf has been named Director of Studies at the Natolin campus. This position was created in order to continue to strengthen the academic programme. Professor Hanf will begin as Director of Studies on 1 September 2007.

At the same time, the Administrative Council renewed Professor Paul Demaret’s term as Rector of the College of Europe for five years.
