EU-funded project El-Hiwar II – Sectorial Training on Foresight Techniques and Strategic Thinking

On 27-28 August 2019, and within the context of the EU-funded project El-Hiwar II, a sectorial training workshop took place in Cairo, Egypt on ‘Foresight Techniques and Strategic Thinking: the Arab region and Europe in the horizon 2030’ for staff from the League of Arab States (LAS) Secretariat and the EU Delegation in Cairo.

Foresight techniques are meant to help decision-makers and the informed public to anticipate which will be the main challenges they will need to face, identifying the trends that define the scope of possibility and the game-changing events that can drive the future into one or another direction.

The workshop introduced these techniques to the participants, as well as explored different future scenarios for Euro-Arab relations.
