European Business Summit (EBS)

On 6 and 7 May 2015, 30 students of the College of Europe attended the high-level European Business Summit (EBS) in Brussels. The #EBS2015 was a great success and registered a record level of attendance with over 2,300 participants, including 155 speakers in over 50 sessions. In its 15th year, the EBS has confirmed its relevance as a platform for gathering business leaders and policy makers; it is actually the largest forum for business leaders, policy makers, think tanks, civil society and academics in Brussels.

In the framework of the knowledge partnership between the EBS and the College of Europe, the students of the European Economic Integration Specialisation, the members of the CoE Business Club as well as other top students have participated as discussants in many sessions and will contribute to the Summit Report by editing summaries of workshop debates.

On the occasion of the EBS, the European Economic Studies Department launched the “Bruges Series on European Business Cases” which has been presented in a side session of the EBS by Professor Philippe DE BUCK, Professor Aimé HEENE and Mr Thibault ROY, current European Economic Integration and Business student. The new series will focus on business cases which analyze the two-way interaction between EU policies and the world of corporate or non-profit enterprises in Europe.
