Lecture by Professor Bronisław MISZTAL: "Intellectual and Moral Validity of the Political Thought of Geremek"

On 21 March 2012, Professor Bronisław MISZTAL, gave a lecture at Natolin as part of the EP Geremek European Civilization Chair lecture series. The lecture was entitled "Intellectual and Moral Validity of the Political Thought of Bronisław Geremek".

          

Professor MISZTAL is the Executive Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies. He also serves as Professor and Chairholder of the Sociology Chair at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC. Professor MISZTAL attended the University of Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences and completed his post-doctoral training at the Ecole pratique des hautes Etudes (Sorbonne). His research focuses on social movements and democratic transformations, specifically on the formation of civil society in conditions of little or no social capital. He has taught at various institutions of higher education while pursuing his research at the Polish Academy of Sciences and the French National Centre for Scientific Research. Renowned author of over 140 publications in professional journals in six languages​​, he has also published four books (simultaneously in Polish and English) and a book in Spanish. Professor MISZTAL published in major Polish magazines and newspapers.
