Francesco Marchi (IT) is director of the negotiation expertise at the consulting firm ALTERNEGO based in Paris. Previously, he was director of the "Negotiators of Europe" programme of the Institute for Research and Education on Negotiation at the ESSEC Business School in Paris. As team leader of a European consortium providing training on negotiation techniques, he advised and trained various EU negotiation teams (task-force Brexit, DG Environment, DG Regio, DG Health). He has trained diplomats in more than 20 countries (Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe) as well as managers of private companies. He teaches a course in European and international negotiation at PSIA (Sciences Po, Paris) and at INSP (former National School of Administration). His research focuses on the dynamics of negotiation in the EU institutional system and the application of innovative pedagogical tools for teaching negotiation. A certified mediator with the CEDR (London), he holds a doctorate in political science from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) and a Master’s degree in political science and international relations from the University of Catania.
