Parliamentary Diplomacy was the theme of the latest course in Argentina in the framework of the project "EU Policy and Outreach Partnership in South America".

On 23 July 2021, the College of Europe Development Office designed and delivered a tailor-made training course on Parliamentary Diplomacy for an audience of 40 people, composed of advisors from Argentinean parliaments at national, provincial and local level, as well as academics such as professors, researchers and students (national and international).

The training course based on concrete examples from the European Parliament and South America, analysed the internationalisation of the parliamentary sphere. Parliamentary Diplomacy is a clear case of the trend towards more established and complex inter-parliamentary cooperation. During the course, participants also had the opportunity to meet a representative of the Political Section of the EU Delegation to Argentina.

This activity took place in the framework of the EU-funded project "EU Policy and Outreach Partnership in South America - Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile". The College of Europe is a partner of the Consortium implementing the project under the coordination of the Organisation of Ibero-American States (OEI).
