
Bas Arts (NL) is Professor of Forest and Nature Conservation Policy at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
Before joining Wageningen University in 2005, he was Associate Professor in the Department of Political Sciences of the Environment at the Nijmegen School of Management, Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands. Together with Dr. Noortmann, Dr. Reinalda and Professor Willets he edits the Ashgate book series "Non-State Actors in International Law, Politics and Governance".
He has published widely on non-state actors and on environmental issues. He is the editor of Institutional Dynamics in Environmental Governance (with Leroy, 2006), Non-state Actors in International Relations (with Noortmann and Reinalda, 2001), The Influence of NGOs on International and Transnational Politics (with van Roozendaal, 1999) and the author of The Political Influence of Global NGOs: Case Studies on the Climate and Biodiversity Conventions (1998).
