Dr. Bohdana Dimitrovova (CZ) is Academic Assistant and Research Assistant for the TOTAL Chair of EU Foreign Policy at the EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies Department of the College of Europe in Bruges since September 2009. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Queen’s University Belfast (2009), an MA in Nationalism Studies from the Central European University in Budapest (2001) and a BA in International Relations from Charles University in Prague (1999). At the Centre for International Borders Research at Queen’s University Belfast (CIBR) she was responsible for coordinating the research project "EU Dimensions" (www.eudimensions.eu), funded by the European Commission (2006-2009). In 2008 Bohdana Dimitrovova was awarded a research grant as a post-doctoral research fellow at Radboud Nijmegen University by the Volkswagen Stiftung (www.efsps.eu) within its European Foreign and Security Policy Studies Programme. Her project examined reception and perceptions of the European Neighbourhood Policy in North Africa (Morocco and Algeria). She also spent two years as a visiting research fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies in Brussels and worked for four years at the EastWest Institute in Prague and Brussels. Bohdana Dimitrovova was selected by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs as OSCE supervisor for elections in Kosovo (2001) and EU election observer in Burundi (2005), Congo (2006) and Mauretania (2007). She has published in journals such as Space and Polity, Journal for European Integration and Geopolitics.
Fields of interests: European foreign policy, regional conflict resolution, transnationalism, civil society, regional identity and global governance.
