Giorgio Monti

Professor at the College of Europe since 2009. Reader in Law at the London School of Economics (LSE). Lecturer in Law at the University of Leicester from 1993 to 2001. Legislation and Reports Editor for the Modern Law Review.

His principal research interests are in the field of competition law, in particular the development of EC competition law, the use of economics in competition law and the connections between competition law and sector-specific regulation. Awards: 2002 SPTL Small Grant award to carry out research on French competition law.

Author of EC Competition Law (2007, Cambridge University Press) and contributor to European Union law (2006) and its updates (Cambridge University Press).

His recent publications include Managing the Intersection of Utilities Regulation and EC Competition Law (2008, Competition Law Review), The New Substantive Test in the EC Merger Regulation - Bridging the Gap Between Economics and Law? (2008, Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies)
