Hannes Adomeit

Hannes Adomeit (GER) was until December 2007 Senior Research Associate at the Research Institute for International Politics and Security (SWP) in Berlin. Prior to that he was Professor for International Politics and Director of the Program on Russia and East-Central Europe at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston and Fellow at the Harvard Russian Research Center.

Professor Adomeit holds university degrees from the Freie Universität Berlin (Diplom) and Columbia University, New York (Certificate in Russian Studies, M.A., and Ph.D. “with distinction”). He has worked with the EU’s Conflict Prevention Network (CPN) on EU-Russia relations.

Professor Adomeit has published widely on Russia and Europe, including Putins Westpolitik; with Rainer Lindner, Die Gemeinsamen Räume Russlands und der EU; and, with Anders Åslund, Russia versus the United States and Europe or “Strategic Triangle”?
