PhD in Economics from the KU Leuven after completing undergraduate and Masters' studies at the KU Leuven and the KU Brussels. Specialisations in the disciplines of public finance, international economics and European economic integration.

Many publications related to international economy and public finances (e.g. textbooks on International economics and European policy, papers on Euro-accession of EU member states, fiscal and monetary policy of EU and Eurozone, taxes, social welfare, demographic aspects of public finances, fiscal federalism, monetary policy, pension reform, poverty, underground economy, social fraud etc).
