Visiting professor, European Legal Studies Department
Joëlle de Sépibus is a Senior Research Fellow of the World Trade Institute (based in Brussels) and teaches European and international climate law at the University of Bern (Oeschger Institute).
Her current research interests focus on climate and energy policy. In 2010, she worked as an expert for the Belgian Presidency team, attending the climate negotiations in Bonn, Tianjin and Cancun.
She was formerly an Associate Professor of international and European law at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). She holds a Master in European Law (College of Europe, Bruges) and a Ph.D. in European Law (University of Bern). Admitted to the bar, she practiced Swiss and international Business Law in law firms in Bern, Geneva and Zurich. After completing her doctoral thesis she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (European University Institute, Florence).
