Visiting professor, European Law and Economic Analysis
Laura Parret was appointed a member of the Belgian Competition Council in March 2007 for a mandate of six years. She is a chamber president and presides both Dutch speaking and French speaking chambers of the Council. Before that, she was a practising lawyer with an international law firm since 1993. She continues to combine her current function at the Council with a position as lecturer and researcher at the department of European and International Public Law (since 1997) and she is a member of TILEC (Tilburg Law and Economics Center). Her research interest are EU, Dutch and Belgian competition law and more in particular, its procedural aspects placed in a broader European perspective. She has vast experience in teaching both at Tilburg University as well as in postacademic courses elsewhere.
