Marianna Lagakou (BA in English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece; Shakespeare Summer School at the University of Cambridge, UK; MA in Translation Studies at the University of Birmingham, UK; PhD candidate in Translation and Intercultural Studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece; seminars in American Studies, TEFL and Communication) is based in Knokke-Heist and has over 10 years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language in schools in Greece and in Belgium. She also taught the academic course “Literary Translation Criticism” at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008-2009, she has worked for the British Council in Greece and is currently Cambridge ESOL oral examiner at the British Council in Brussels. In 2009 she worked as a translator at the Directorate of Translation at the European Commission in Brussels. She joined the College of Europe in September 2010. Her function in the College of Europe is to teach academic English and train students during the workshops.
