Raphaël Metais

Academic Assistant, EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies Department

Raphaël Métais (FR) is an Academic Assistant at the College of Europe in Bruges and has been working for the EU International Relations and Diplomacy studies department since August 2011.

He holds an MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy studies from the College of Europe (2011) and an MA in European Politics and Public Management from the Strasbourg Institute of Political Studies (2010). He also graduated from the Strasbourg Institute of Political Sciences (2005-2010) with a masters, and did an Erasmus exchange in Istanbul.

Besides his studies, Raphaël has completed internships in Dakar (public policy auditing), Tehran (journalism) and Brussels (European Parliament). He also worked as a trainee at the French General Secretariat for European Affairs in Paris in the EU enlargement department.

Fields of interest: conflict mediation and resolution, energy security policy, EU enlargement.
