Stephan Keukeleire (BE) is Chairholder of the TOTAL Chair of EU Foreign Policy in the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies since 2011. He has been a visiting professor at the College of Europe since 2001 and teaches courses on European foreign policy in Bruges and Natolin.
Stephan Keukeleire is also Jean Monnet Professor of European Foreign Policy at the Institute for International and European Policy of the University of Leuven and Director of the Master of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives. He is the co-ordinator of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence "The EU, Foreign Policy and Global Governance" in Leuven. In the past he gained experience with the practice of EU foreign policy when working at the cabinet of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs and at the European Parliament. He is a graduate of the University of Leuven, the University of Hull and the University of Strasbourg.
Stephan Keukeleire’s research and publications on EU foreign policy mainly focus on the CFSP, EU diplomacy, the EU’s structural foreign policy, informal policy-making, and the EU’s policy towards Kosovo and the DR Congo. He is co-author of the widely used textbook "The Foreign Policy of the European Union" (Palgrave Macmillan) and coordinator of the specialized Online Resource Guide Exploring EU Foreign Policy.
