The Development Office

“The Development Office is the College of Europe’s gateway from academia to the professional world. Our experienced team of project managers and assistants is dedicated to putting the College’s academic excellence at the disposal of the wider public.” – Jan De Mondt, Director of the Development Office

With 63 years of involvement both at the level of theory and practice of European Affairs, the College of Europe has become increasingly sought after to participate in different projects on the basis of its expertise.

The College of Europe Development Office was established in Bruges in 1996, in response to the College’s institutional need for greater centralisation and co-ordination of its growing number of service contracts with third parties.

The Development Office is the link between the College of Europe and its partners, both from the public and private sector and it can be considered as the European Executive Training and Expertise Centre of the College of Europe. It manages the College of Europe’s professional services, projects and partnerships and can count on the international network and expertise of the College gained through more than sixty years of experience in EU affairs teaching. It offers a dynamic and flexible structure for developing and co-ordinating projects and activities related to the areas of academic expertise of the College. It is responsible for prospecting for new opportunities, for writing project proposals, and for providing managerial and administrative support to the teams of College experts working under different service, research and training contracts.

With a portfolio of activities ranging from professional training courses, tailored on the basis of a specific request, through open-for-registration seminars, to research or technical assistance service contracts, the Development Office has developed a specific approach and a “savoir faire” in order to be your lifelong learning partner in European Affairs.
