Maureen WELSH

Maureen WELSH started working at the College of Europe in 2011 at the Student Affairs Office and, in October 2012, she joined the Executive Education, Training and Projects Office as a Project and Communications Assistant. Before joining the College, Maureen WELSH worked for seventeen years in the private sector as Commercial Employee and as International Key Account Manager.

Since joining the Executive Education, Training and Projects Office, she has been working on its Executive Education courses such as the 3-week ‘Intensive Seminar on the EU’ (since 2013), the bi-annual (June & November) ‘EU Project Management’ course (since 2013), ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’ (since 2016). She is also working on a variety of other projects like the annual Colloquium on International Humanitarian Law for the ICRC (Red Cross) and the EU Policy and Outreach Partnership – Brazil and South America organising diplomatic and executive training courses in Latin America.

In her capacity of Communications Assistant, she takes care of the creation of web content (news, events, courses, etc), of social media posts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Flickr), live coverage at events, marketing campaigns (newsletters, targeted emails, news flashes, etc), development of branded materials (leaflets, brochures, posters, press releases, videos, etc), media and public relations.

Maureen Welsh is also the communication expert in the project EU – Africa Summer Schools on Competition Policy. She is in charge of all the communication activities of the project, assisting in advertising the event and setting up and maintaining social media accounts. She prepares relevant content for the website.

She was born in Bruges and speaks Dutch, English, French and Spanish.
