- Local Committee for the College of Europe
Local Committee for the College of Europe
The aim of the Local Committee, which was founded in 1949 is to integrate the College and its students into the heart of the Bruges community. Students are invited to take part in activities and meetings initiated by the committee, through the Student Affairs Office. Activities can be of a cultural nature, such as museum visits or typical touristic excursions, but there have also been projects to bring students close to the local business community. Each year students are welcomed by the Mayor in an official event which takes place at the City Hall. The flagship activity initiated by the Local committee is the Bruges host family project. Bruges citizens are regularly invited to high level conferences and speeches delivered at the College of Europe.
