The College of Europe is the most reputed institute of postgraduate European studies. Every year, we train about 450 postgraduates from Europe and beyond in European Politics and Governance, Law, Economics, International Relations and Diplomacy, Transatlantic Affairs and Interdisciplinary Studies. We attract the best university students from around 50 different nationalities, thanks to a highly-qualified faculty of top international professors and practitioners.

Each year, the College organises Career Days, in order to facilitate the connection between the College community and potential employers and gives the possibility to recruiters to access the CV database containing the students’ CVs.

At the Careers Days, organisations have the opportunity to present themselves to the students, interview them, and meet representatives of other companies and organisations. This year, the Career Days will be on 14 & 15 March 2024 in Bruges.

How to participate

Participation to Career Days can be tailored to the needs of each organisation. However, our standard offer foresees different packages with different contributions:

Glossary

  • “Stand in the Fair area”: 1 table and 2 chairs in the Fair spaces (corridors and reading rooms).
  • “Private Room”: offices or classroom equipped with screen, computer, chairs, tables. The classrooms can be set up to include different interview stations or host walk-in sessions. Offices normally allow for just one interview station.
  • “Walk-in Session”: during a “walk-in session” students can freely enter the room, present themselves, ask questions about the organisation, leave their CV.
  • “One to one”: using the CV database, companies will be able to pre-identify students they would like to meet. The selected students can be contacted to fix a timing for a one-to-one session. We kindly ask to inform the student in advance of the nature of the interview (“get to know each other” or for actual recruiting purposes) and any other useful information (what profile you are looking for).
  • “Lottery one to one”: with the organisation input, the College staff will set up sign-up forms for interview slots assigned on a first-come, first served basis. The lottery interview timeslots can be fixed once the schedule for pre-identified students has been set up by the organisation, in case it wishes to do both.
  • Fair Package: Have a stand in the "Fair" area + networking lunch for 2 + internet access (200 EUR VAT Excluded) / 100 EUR for NGOs and first-time participants). Ideal if you do not want to conduct interviews and just exchange informally with the students.

  • Private Room Package: Have a private room + access the CV database + conduct “one to one” with people you pre-identified + and/or “walk-in sessions” + offer "lottery one to one” with people interested in your organisation + networking lunch for 2 + internet access + unlimited refreshments (550 EUR VAT Excluded / 450 EUR for NGOs and first-time participants). This package gives you the maximum flexibility to organise your presence at the Career Days.

  • CV Database Package: Access the CV database, a searchable database of the CVs of our students (250 EUR VAT Excluded), until 1/12/2024. See below for more information.

As indicated, a 100 EUR discount will be given to NGOs and first-time participants. Public institutions can participate free of charge. The College of Europe is a non-for-profit organisation. Any proceeding contributes directly to the mission of the College. Once registration is confirmed, the Financial Service will send an invoice.

Please, note that the College of Europe staff reserve the rights of not following up on registrations.

The CV Database

The College gives the opportunity to employers to have access to the database of current students’ CVs.

You can decide not to participate in the Career Days and get access to the database only. Access to the database happens via a dedicated account that will be created for you. Employers will be able to search and sort CVs according to certain parameters, contact the students and set up interviews whenever they want, not only during the Career Days.

Access to the database lasts from the moment you received your username and password until 1st December 2024. For access to the CV database, a contribution of 250 EUR VAT excluded is asked. The College of Europe is a non-for-profit organisation. Any proceeding contributes directly to the mission of the College. Once registration is confirmed, the Financial Service will send an invoice.

Once the registration is confirmed, employers will receive access to a dedicated email accounts and explanations on how to access the database.

Other Services

The College of Europe is keen on collaborating with potential employers. If you cannot attend our Career Days, please contact us. Other services that the Careers Office is happy to offer are:

  • Circulating vacancies among students and alumni: you can always send vacancies for dissemination directly to me via email (elena.turci@coleurope.eu). I will share it with alumni and current students.

  • Hosting events in Bruges: in case the Career Days are not a good choice for you, at the College we would be happy to welcome you for a workshop followed by a networking moment with the students. Otherwise, we could support you in case you want to organise a study visit or a reception at your premises. In the second semester, I will organise a roundtables with representatives of different industries followed by a networking moment. Contact the Careers Office in case you are interested in receiving an invitation.

  • Nano project: Employers can propose a "nano" project simulating the activities of their organisation. The outcome of this project can be a brief, a business or lobbying strategy or anything else to be evaluated by the employer and produced within a limited timeframe (3 weeks maximum). The outcome can be realised in a multidisciplinary team.
