On 19 October 2015, the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe, Bruges campus, in cooperation with the European Foreign Affairs Review, organized a high-level international conference on “Transatlantic Leadership in a Global Perspective: Challenges and Opportunities”. The conference explored the potential and limitations of joint US-EU leadership regarding the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the Atlantic security alliance and an increasingly multipolar global context. Trade Commissioner Cecilia MALMSTRÖM delivered a keynote address “Towards a New Strategy” and Ambassador Anthony L. GARDNER, US Ambassador to the European Union, closed the conference.
