The 11th of November is a national holiday in Poland, and several other European countries. For some it marks independence, for others it marks victory, for still others it means peace, for others it is unclear what it means or it means very little.

The Natolin Historical Society organized a meeting to discuss and debate the (in)significance of the date, the meaning of the First World War from many different perspectives, and how this has affected history and memory in many a European country. It was a great opportunity to revel in our diversity as a College, but also to study history in a meaningful way.
