The College of Europe Natolin Campus and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with the support of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs are organizing for the seventh time an introductory Seminar on International Humanitarian Law of Armed Conflicts (IHL) which takes place at the College of Europe Natolin campus, from 20 to 22 February 2013.

Its aim is to familiarize students and national experts with the new and growing challenges the international community is confronted with in the domain of Humanitarian Protection.

In the framework of the College’s cooperation with the ICRC, and in the light of the most recent developments of the European Defense and Security Policy, Mr Stéphane KOLANOWSKI, ICRC Brussels Delegation to the EU and NATO, together with Professor Elzbieta MIKOS-SKUZA, University of Warsaw, and other practitioners of law and EU affairs will address highly discussed issues related to the implementation of IHL by the European Union.

The seminar is open to national experts and students (postgraduates or in their final year of studies) in Law and Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Diplomacy, European Studies, Journalism as well as to students of the College of Europe.

A certificate of participation will be given to participants who follow the entire programme.

The programme will be conducted in English without translation.
