This year the Natolin Security and Defence Society (NSDS) ran a series of European Security Webinars. The fifth instalment addressed International relations under COVID-19, and was open to the entire Hannah Arendt Promotion and all College of Europe alumni.

The discussion was wide ranging, covering the new world order, state responses to the pandemic, the European Union's future bilateral relations, and the consequences of this crisis for developing countries.

The invited speakers were all College of Europe professors, hailing from both campuses:

  • Ms Federica MOGHERINI, Former EU High Representative and future Rector of the College of Europe
  • H.E. Ambassador Pierre VIMONT, French President’s Special Envoy for the architecture of security and trust with Russia
  • H.E. Ambassador Thomas MAYR-HARTING, OSCE Special Representative for the Transdniestrian Settlement Process
  • Professor James MACKIE, Head of Learning and Quality Support at the European Centre for Development Policy Management

NSDS officer Mr Niklas MAYER moderated the event. In the end, over 130 students and alumni logged in to hear the distinguished speakers and demonstrate l’esprit du Collège.
