On 27 February 2017, Professor Wojciech ROSZKOWSKI, a renowned Polish historian, came to the Natolin campus of the College of Europe to deliver a lecture on "Political Culture of Central and Eastern Europe".

The guest lecture was organized in the framework of the preparation for the second semester study trip week to Prague, Bratislava and Budapest titled "Central-European Alternatives? Past, Present and Future in the Visegrád Countries". Students explored the entangled histories and memories of the four Visegrád countries, gaining an understanding of the context so vital to the analysis of regional geopolitics, security and governance, and Europe's fundamental challenge: democratic legitimacy.

About the speaker:
Professor ROSZKOWSKI is currently the Head of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. During his distinguished career, he was, among numerous other positions, the Deputy Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics, Member of the European Parliament, and a founder of the Jagiellonian Institute. Professor ROSZKOWSKI has published a number of books on Central and Eastern Europe and has been awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Resituta.
