On 7-8 May 2009, the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe co-organises the international conference “The Power of Europe: Affirming the EU as a Global Actor” with Egmont - The Royal Institute for International Relations, the Bertelsmann Foundation Brussels Office and the Centre for Comparative Regional Integration Studies of the United Nations University (UNU/CRIS).
This conference brings together academics and practitioners to assess the power of the European Union as a global actor and to contribute to the strategic debate in Europe. It analyses the EU’s relations with other powers, its instruments of ‘traditional’ and ‘soft’ power as well as its ‘grand strategy’ in a multipolar world. The conference language is English.
