On 30 March 2016, H. E. Mr David WALZER, Ambassador of Israel to the EU and NATO, came to discuss EU-Israel relations at the College of Europe, Bruges campus.

Serving over three decades in the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Ambassador WALZER has a particularly broad knowledge and experience in diverse areas of international relations such as the Middle East, international organizations (having served as director of the UN Political Affairs Department from 2000-2004) and of course Europe.  Prior to his current position, H.E. Mr WALZER was Ambassador to Denmark (2004-2008), Minister (DCM) in Bonn and Berlin (1994-2000), and has an academic background in German Modern History and Politics. Research is central in his work as evidenced in his last position, before coming to Brussels, as the Director of the Center for Policy Research at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

H.E. Ambassador WALZER delivered a talk of about 45 minutes titled "Israel-EU relations within the context of Europe's multiple challenges", followed by a session of questions and answers.
