On 23 February 2017, the Natolin campus of the College of Europe hosted the round-table discussion on the external action of the European Council: "In search of a coherent and effective global role. The case of EU sanctions against Russia".

This round-table was organised in cooperation with the Jean Monnet project SUMMIT. The idea of the SUMMIT round-table series is to promote the latest research-based knowledge about the European Council and to enable a debate with academics and the public on the institution.
