The seminar Introduction to International Humanitarian Law of Armed Conflicts took place at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe from 16 to 18 March 2016. The seminar was organized with the support of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to the European Union.

The aim of this seminar was to familiarize participants with new and emerging challenges that the international community is confronted with in the domain of Humanitarian Protection and Assistance in times of armed conflicts. Professor Elżbieta MIKOS-SKUZA (University of Warsaw, College of Europe) and other practitioners of Law and EU Affairs addressed highly-discussed issues related to the workings of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and the links between the European Union and IHL.

The seminar was open to students (in their final year of studies) of Law and Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Diplomacy, European Studies, Journalism and other related fields, students of the College of Europe, as well as to students/researchers currently attending a postgraduate programme in the above fields and practitioners. A certificate of participation was given to participants who followed the entire programme. The seminar was conducted in English without translation.
