On Thursday 21 March 2019, the College of Europe in Natolin organized a special lecture by Mr Thorniké GORDADZE: "Current Geopolitical Trends in the South Caucasus".

The lecture was part of a preparatory lecture series for the Manuel Marín Promotion students participating in the second semester study trip to Georgia and Armenia. Mr GORDADZE is a Georgian-born political scientist of geopolitics in the South Caucasus and a former foreign-affairs official in the government of President Mikheil SAAKASHVILI. After receiving his doctoral degree from Sciences Po in 2006, he served as Deputy Foreign Minister from 2010-2012 and Minister of Euro-Atlantic Integration in 2012. In both of these posts, Mr GORDADZE led negotiations concerning Georgia’s integration with the EU and NATO. He has since co-founded the Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies. Currently, he is a lecturer at Paris and Lille Institutes of Political Studies and is associated with Institut des Hautes Études de la Défense Nationale in Paris.
