Online visit to the College of Europe organized for Russian researchers

On 23 October 2020, the College of Europe e-welcomed a group of young Russian researchers coming from all over Russia. This is the third time that the College has organized such a visit in the framework of the EU-funded project ‘EU Policy and Outreach Partnership – Russian Federation’. Previously, we had a pleasure to welcome participants in Bruges. This year, instead, the visit was organized exceptionally online due to ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

This visit was organized for the group of the winners of the European Dialogue Expert Group and the Association of European Studies essay contests. It had a very intense and interesting 1-day programme that included:

  • An online meeting and discussion with Mr Marcus EDERER, the EU Ambassador to Russia;
  • A Communication workshop with Ms Angela O’NEILL, Director of Communications and Languages at the College of Europe;
  • A training session and discussion with Mr Domenico VALENZA, PhD Fellow at Ghent University and United Nations University – UN-CRIS, on the EU-Russia cultural relations in light of the Covid-19 crisis;
  • An online meeting and discussion with the College of Europe students.

The College of Europe is very much grateful to the Goethe-Institut Moskau and to the Delegation of the European Union to Russia for the cooperation and trust in the organization of this event. The College of Europe Development Office aims at contributing to building bridges between the EU and Russia by reaching young people who could later become active agents in their countries.
