Wioletta GURDAK

Wioletta GURDAK graduated from the Polish Philology Department, University of Warsaw. A Polish language teacher for almost 20 years, teaching Polish in a multilingual and multicultural environment.  She combines knowledge and practice with broad intercultural experience. Wioletta Gurdak has authored curricula and materials for teaching Polish as a foreign language for all levels (pre-A1 to C2) and co-authored with Dr Wojciech Sosnowski two coursebooks of the Polskie czytanki series.

Wioletta Gurdak joined the Languages and Intercultural Dialogue team at the College of Europe in Natolin in January 2007 where she runs Polish language courses for students and staff at all levels for speakers of Slavonic and non-Slavonic languages.

In the course of her career she had the privilege of working with representatives of many international institutions (OSCE, Frontex, European Commission, EU Justice Tribunal, UEFA), embassies (Embassy of New Zealand) and private sector companies. Her students hail from in the financial sector (Nationale Nederlanden, BNP Paribas, ING Bank), legal firms (Clifford Chance), hotel chains (Sheraton, Westin), consultancy firms and land development companies (JLL, Skanska, Adgar). During Poland’s accession to the EU she taught Polish translators and interpreters working within EU administration.

Wioletta Gurdak worked as Director of Studies for 3 years at one of the largest language school networks in Poland where she coordinated a team of 40 language teachers. For many years she has organised and conducted teacher training courses for teachers of Polish as a foreign language.
